When a seventeenth century Dutch ‘Old Master’ painting worth millions is stolen from an English aristocrat’s stately home and the evil General is linked to the theft, it transpires there is more to the painting than its value as a work of art.
The young friends become involved in a romantic intrigue when the subject of the painting, ‘Laughing Lisa’, a rebellious lass who is an ancestor of the aristocratic family comes to life as well as the Dutch artist who painted her and with whom she eloped.

Lyrics - Lisa

Lisa, Lisa, what a girl.
Lived in a romantic whirl.
Born into a stately home,
Didn’t suit her laughing tone.
Pulled her skirts above her knees,
Tucked her laughs up her sleeves.

Brought back from the grave,
Her picture’s still a rave.
Fun loving and a teaser,
There’s no resisting LAUGHING LISA.

Lisa, Lisa, what a girl,
Lived in a romantic whirl.
Artists sought to paint her face,
Then she fell into disgrace.
When one for her his love bespoked,
She kicked her heels and then eloped.

All hell to pay,
She kept on laughing all the way.

Brought back from the grave,
Her picture’s still a rave.
Fun loving and a teaser,
There’s no resisting LAUGHING LISA.

Lisa, Lisa, what a girl,
Lived in a romantic whirl.
Never stopped laughing since
She wed her artist prince.
An ‘Old Master’ he’s become,
Still they’re having lots of fun.

The Mona Lisa's enigmatic smile,
Don’t suit Laughing Lisa’s style.

Brought back from the grave,
Her picture’s still a rave.
Fun loving and a teaser,
There’s no resisting LAUGHING LISA.

Lisa, Lisa, what a girl! … Lisa, Lisa, what a girl! …
